    Description

    Required - Top 3:
    1. AWS experience having built and run production systems
    2. Must have built and maintained CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI or Azure DevOps)
    3. Experience deploying/managing infrastructure using code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
    Typical Day-to-Day:
    Building and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code (EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC)
    Designing and running CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, Azure DevOps) so dev teams can deploy code safely and automatically
    Monitoring systems for performance, cost, and reliability and jumping in on call when something breaks
    Baking security into pipelines, scanning, secrets management, compliance checks in partnership with IT Security
    Documenting everything (architecture, pipelines, procedures) and acting as the go-to technical partner for Dev and IT Ops teams

    Job Description:
    Cloud Infrastructure & Operations
    Design, deploy, and maintain AWS-based infrastructure using infrastructure-as-code practices.
    Administer and optimize core AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, and related services.
    Implement security best practices for cloud environments in partnership with IT Security.
    Monitor system health, performance, availability, and costs; proactively address reliability risks.
    Participate in on-call rotations and incident response for systems owned by the role.

    DevOps & CI/CD Enablement
    Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using platforms such as GitLab CI or Azure DevOps.
    Partner with development teams to standardize build, deployment, and release workflows.
    Improve deployment safety through automation, testing, validation, and rollback mechanisms.
    Integrate security scanning, secrets management, and compliance controls into pipelines.

    Operational Resilience & Documentation
    Document architectures, pipelines, operational procedures, and automation clearly and accurately.
    Produce and maintain "as-built and "as-operated documentation to support IT Operations.

    Collaboration & Support
    Serve as a technical partner to Application Development, Web Development, and IT Operations teams.
    Provide tiered operational support and troubleshooting for cloud and deployment platforms.
    Participate in infrastructure and platform initiatives aligned with AAAS technology strategy.

    Minimum Qualifications
    Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in systems administration, cloud engineering, or DevOps roles.
    Hands-on experience operating production workloads in AWS or Azure environments
    Demonstrated experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or equivalent).
    Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools and automation practices
    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on root-cause analysis.
    Ability to work independently with defined objectives and broad technical latitude.
    Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills.
    Ability to collaborate across teams without formal authority.
    Discipline in documentation, change management, and following established standards.
