You will work with a team to plan, assess requirements, design, and develop optimal and secure cloud-based solutions. The engineer must have exceptional problem-solving skills and a strong understanding of the code base to identify and solve issues before they become systemic. All engineers on the team are key contributors to the program's success in serving government customers. Engineers are expected to stay current with best practices, industry standards, and maintain certifications to operate within the environment. Some travel may be required.ResponsibilitiesDesign, provision and deploy AWS infrastructure (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudWatch) following industry best practices and organizational standards.Execute cloud migrations with minimal downtime, ensuring data integrity and application continuity across environments.Implement Zero Trust architecture principles throughout infrastructure and systems to ensure security posture.Configure and manage identity and access management (IAM) policies and Active Directory integration for RBAC.Produce internal and customer-facing documentation for the configuration and use of deployed systems.Configure and manage Active Directory services for system, application, and environment access including security and group policies.Implement security controls and hardening measures to meet compliance requirements and security standards.Conduct security assessments of cloud resources and remediate identified vulnerabilities.Monitor system and application performance using CloudWatch and other observability tools; analyze metrics and take action to resolve performance issues.Perform root-cause analysis on incidents and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.Maintain and enhance documentation of infrastructure configurations for all environments.Provide reports and actions to enable effective handoff of issues within and between teams.Evaluate and recommend cloud and system technologies, including proof-of-concept and minimum viable product testing as part of program engineering efforts.Support application migrations into infrastructure as code and cloud-native approaches.Provide feedback and revision of customer requirements when program direction does not align.Build strong relationships with partners, stakeholders and customers to minimize escalations.Troubleshoot, develop and deploy containerized applications and workloads using Docker, including building optimized images and managing container lifecycles.Deliver cloud solutions across multiple environments to meet business needs.Required Skills and Experience5+ years of progressive IT experience in systems administration, networking or infrastructure engineering2+ years of demonstrated Cloud Engineering experience on AWS design, deployment and operationsCompTIA Security+ Certification, AWS Associate Certification or higherEducationBachelors with 5+ years or Masters with 3+ years of experienceLocationRemoteClearanceSecretSecurity / ComplianceDOD 8570 Requirement: NoneSalary Range$75 to $90 USD per hourPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described are representative of those that must be met to perform essential functions.
