    BAM has built a world class infrastructure platform for its investment professionals and is now looking for an engineering manager to own all aspects of our large, multi-region AWS environment. This senior, hands-on leader will own cloud strategy, architecture, implementation and governance. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with Portfolio Managers and other business stakeholders to understand their needs and enable them to efficiently use public cloud solutions. 

     

    As a Cloud Engineering Manager at BAM, you will: 

    • Be the hands-on manager and leader of a global team of Cloud Engineers 
    • Define and own our cloud strategy 
    • Create blueprints for application developers that guide them through building cost-efficient and resilient applications in the cloud 
    • Partner with application developers across the firm and enable their success 
    • Develop self-service capabilities that allow stakeholders to access cloud services quickly, efficiently and within appropriate limits 
    • Participate in on-call rotation and maintenance 

     

    Core Tech Stack: 

    • Kubernetes on AWS specified via Terraform and deployed via Spacelift

    To be considered a good technical fit, you must have: 

    • 10+ years, hands-on experience with large-scale, highly available, services on public cloud 
    • 5+ years people management experience 
    • Expert knowledge of at least 1 public cloud provider, Kubernetes, and related tools 
    • Experience with Direct Connect and related networking concepts 
    • Experience integrating IAM into an enterprise 
    • Experience with cloud-native security practices and tools 
    • Understanding of FinOps principles and cloud cost optimization 
    • Comfortable writing Python 
    • Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning

    With respect to NY, CA, and IL based applicants, the starting base pay range for this role is between USD 200000 and USD 300000 annually. The actual base pay is dependent upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, business needs and market demands. This role may also be eligible for bonus compensation and employee benefits.
