Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
Technical Skills
  • Deep expertise in Azure data services (Databricks, ADLS, ADF, Event Hub/Service Bus).
  • Strong architectural background in Hadoop/Cloudera ecosystems (HDFS, Spark, Hive/Impala, Ranger/Sentry).
  • Hybrid connectivity design including ExpressRoute/VPN, networking, and security hardening.
  • Experience with identity, RBAC, secrets/keys, and Zero-Trust principles.
  • Knowledge of data governance frameworks (Purview), DQ, lineage, schema evolution.
  • Skilled in designing scalable and distributed batch/streaming architectures.
  • FinOps practices for compute/storage cost optimization.
  • Ability to create reference architectures, standards, and blueprint documentation.
Functional Skills
  • Ability to mentor engineering teams and lead design reviews.
  • Strong collaboration skills with PMs, compliance, business, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Ability to define roadmaps, migration strategies, and hybrid modernization blueprints.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills for leadership alignment.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Define and own the end-to-end architecture of hybrid big-data platforms.
  • Establish security models, integration patterns, and governance standards.
  • Review engineering designs and ensure alignment with architectural guidelines.
  • Collaborate with PMs and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet regulatory and business goals.
  • Drive modernization strategy, migration planning, and stepwise platform evolution.
  • Oversee performance, reliability, DR strategy, and cost-optimized cloud adoption.
