Core Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with daily living activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
  • Monitor and accurately record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates
  • Respond promptly and attentively to resident call lights and requests for assistance
  • Assist with safe resident transfers and repositioning using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
  • Provide compassionate emotional support and meaningful companionship to residents and their visiting family members
  • Accurately document observations regarding resident health, behavior, and any noticeable changes in condition
  • Assist residents during scheduled mealtimes and ensure proper nutrition and adequate hydration
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment within resident rooms and common living areas
  • Collaborate effectively with licensed nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated, person-centered care
  • Follow all infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory compliance standards consistently

Must-Have Requirements
  • Valid Connecticut CNA certification in good standing with the state registry
  • Minimum of six months of hands-on experience working in a long-term care, assisted living, or skilled nursing facility setting
  • Strong understanding of basic patient care principles and elderly care best practices
  • Ability to lift, transfer, and reposition residents safely, requiring physical stamina and strength
  • Excellent communication skills with residents, families, and healthcare team members
  • Demonstrated empathy, patience, and genuine commitment to resident-centered care
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Reliable attendance record and strong professional work ethic
  • Basic computer proficiency for electronic health record documentation purposes
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred but not strictly required at time of hire
