At Abide Hospice, We Begin With Who Is Here.
When Ordinary Care Becomes Sacred:
Bathing a frail elder may seem like an ordinary clinical task.
But something changes when you slow down. When you ask permission before touching. When you protect modesty, notice the person's eyes, and allow them to remain present in what is happening to their body.
The task becomes sacred. At Abide, we believe that making something sacred means bringing extraordinary attention to what is ordinary. We sacrifice our hurry, our convenience, and sometimes our certainty—not the person before us.
This is how we care.
About You- You are someone who notices.
- You notice when a pillow isn't quite right, when a patient seems quieter than usual, or when silence is more comforting than words.
- You understand that dignity is protected in small moments, that a gentle touch can communicate what words cannot, and that sometimes the most meaningful thing you can do is simply remain.
- You bring clinical skill, patience, and genuine respect for the person before you.
- You don't simply care for someone. You recognize someone.
What You'll DoAs a part-time Hospice CNA, you'll provide personal care and comfort to patients throughout the Portland area.
