APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with a manufacturer in Livonia, MI to hire a skilled machinist who can set up, operate, and maintain CNC lathes and mills while holding tight quality standards.
What you will do
Interpret work orders, blueprints, and engineering drawings to plan machining steps, materials, dimensions, and GD&T tolerances.
Set up CNC lathes and mills by installing and adjusting chucks, tools, collets, attachments, bushings, gears, stops, and stock pushers; tram mill heads as required.
Load raw material by positioning stock in feed mechanisms and verify settings on start-up.
Prove out and inspect first-run parts and sample pieces to confirm accuracy and compliance before releasing to production.
Operate and support dual spindles, multi-tasking machines, turn/mill equipment, spindle transfers, and 3-, 4-, or 5-axis machining (experience with any is a plus).
Follow all safety procedures and sustain a clean, safe workspace.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and adhere to manufacturer guidelines to keep machines reliable.
Complete production and quality documentation fully and on time.
What you bring
High school diploma or equivalent required.
1 to 3 years of solid CNC machining experience; 5+ years preferred.
Aerospace background is a huge plus.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
