    Description

    CNC Lathe Programmer/Operator

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Lathe Programmer/Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in programming, setting up, and operating CNC (Computer Numerical Control) lathes to produce high-quality precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of machining principles, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced production environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Programming: Develop and optimize CNC lathe programs using G-code or CAM software to efficiently produce complex parts with tight tolerances.

    • Setup: Configure tooling, workholding fixtures, and machine parameters for each production run, ensuring proper alignment and setup accuracy.

    • Operation: Operate CNC lathe machines, monitoring the machining process to ensure quality, proper tool wear, and adherence to production specifications.

    • Quality Control: Perform regular inspections of finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges. Make necessary adjustments to maintain strict quality standards.

    • Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve machining issues, tool breakage, or deviations from specifications during production runs. Adjust programs and setups as needed to ensure consistent quality and efficiency.

    • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC lathe machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs, to ensure optimal machine performance.

    • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production runs, tooling changes, and program adjustments. Document any changes or improvements made to processes for future reference.

    • Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members, including engineers, designers, and other machine operators, to exchange insights, solve problems, and optimize production processes.

    • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines while operating machinery. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining is preferred.

    • Proven experience in CNC lathe programming and operation, with a strong understanding of G-code and machining principles.

    • Proficiency in using CAM software for programming (e.g., Mastercam, GibbsCAM, Siemens NX).

    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.

    • Solid knowledge of precision measuring instruments and quality control methods.

    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machining issues effectively.

    • Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational skills.

    • Strong teamwork and communication abilities.

    • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.

    • Familiarity with tooling selection, setup optimization, and machine maintenance.

    • Prior experience with multi-axis machining and advanced toolpath strategies is a plus.

    • Knowledge of materials, cutting speeds, and feeds for various workpiece materials.

    Benefits:

Competitive salary of $25 per hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

    • Opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative manufacturing environment.

    • Chance to contribute to the production of high-precision components used in diverse industries.

    • Continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
