Position Summary:
The CNC Lathe Machinist is responsible for operating, programming, and troubleshooting CNC lathes to produce high-precision components. This role requires strong machining knowledge, blueprint reading skills, and the ability to support continuous process improvement within the manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and program CNC lathes to manufacture precision components
- Perform CNC setup and make program adjustments as needed
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure accuracy and quality
- Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues and implement corrective solutions
- Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
- Collaborate with Engineering to improve designs and machining efficiency
- Support and train junior machinists on best practices and safety procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all company quality and safety standards
Job Requirements:
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience with strong CNC lathe expertise required
- Proficiency in G-code programming and CNC machine setup
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and blueprints
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
