Job Description

We are seeking an experienced CNC Set Up Operator to join our CNC Programming Team in Richardson, TX. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience setting up and operating Horizontal, Vertical, and 5-Axis CNC machines.

In this role, you will work closely with CNC Programmers to prepare machines for production, transfer programs and setup information, position materials, troubleshoot setup issues, and ensure machining operations meet quality and production requirements. The successful candidate should have strong technical skills, the ability to read engineering drawings, and a commitment to precision and quality.

Location: Richardson, TX (Onsite)
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Shifts: 1st Shift (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) | 2nd Shift (3:30 PM – Midnight)
Hours: 40 hours per week with limited overtime opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

Collaborate with the CNC Programming Team to understand machine setup requirements and production specifications.
Set up and prepare Horizontal, Vertical, and 5-Axis CNC machines for production runs.
Transfer CNC programs and necessary setup information to machines.
Configure machine settings, tools, fixtures, and materials according to production requirements.
Position, align, and secure materials to ensure accurate machining operations.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Troubleshoot machine setup and configuration issues to minimize downtime.

Qualifications

Proven experience in CNC machine setup and operation.
Hands-on experience with Horizontal, Vertical, and 5-Axis CNC machines.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Experience with machine tooling, fixtures, material positioning, and alignment.
