CNC Machining Operations Lead (Production Cell)

Step into a hands-on leadership role guiding a fast-moving CNC machining operation at Durex Industries. As the CNC Machining Operations Lead, you’ll keep material moving, schedules visible, and teams aligned so every Machining Order (MO) ships on time and to spec.

A day in the life

You start by scanning the production schedule and controlled WIP to confirm every MO has a clear path. You reconcile Shop Floor Manager (SFM) and ERP transactions so quantities and locations match. On the floor, you make sure components are staged and visible to production, coordinate milk runs to replenish floor stock, and partner with Purchasing to review materials and set replenishment levels. Throughout the day, you publish progress, transaction, cycle count, and open MO reports—then dive into ad hoc analyses to remove roadblocks. Along the way, you spot improvement opportunities (safety stock, Kanban) and lock in changes that stick.

What you’ll own

• Ensure seamless movement of materials across manufacturing departments
• Create and distribute daily work progress, transaction, cycle count, and open MO reports
• Maintain controlled WIP and updated, visible production schedules
• Reconcile SFM and ERP transactions, quantities, and locations
• Identify floor stock items and establish milk-run replenishment processes
• Serve as the shop-floor liaison to Purchasing for material reviews and order quantities
• Drive material and flow improvements using tools like safety stock and Kanban
• Tackle ad hoc projects and analyses to resolve issues and elevate performance

What you bring

• HS diploma or GED (AS in Operations a plus) and experience in a discrete manufacturing environment
• Process discipline and strong data analysis/judgment—able to sustain new processes
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and change-oriented; driven to deliver results
• Clear, professional communication (verbal, written, electronic)
• Highly organized and detail-focused
• Systems fluency: MS Great Plains ERP; MES for labor and material transactions; MS Office; MS Dynamics 365 a plus

• Workplace Safety & EHS Management; OSHA 10-Hour Certification (OSHA 10)
• ISO 9001 Certification experience; Workers’ Compensation familiarity
• CNC Programming; G-Code; CNC tooling; CNC machine setup & changeover
• CNC machine installation and repair
• Language: Spanish
