Oxford Solutions is working with a manufacturing client seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for a direct hire, onsite opportunity. This role is ideal for a skilled machinist with strong setup and operation experience across horizontal and vertical machining centers, live tooling lathes, and CNC machine tools.
The CNC Machinist will be responsible for setting up, running, and making program edits at the machine while producing precision components to meet quality and production standards.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate horizontal and vertical machining centers
Set up and run live tooling lathes
Work with CNC machine tools including Okuma, Mori Seiki, Kitamura, and Haas
Edit CNC programs directly at the machine as needed
Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and machining specifications
Use G and M codes to support machine setup, operation, and program adjustments
Select and apply appropriate milling tooling for production requirements
Perform quality checks to ensure parts meet required tolerances and specifications
Troubleshoot machining issues and make necessary adjustments to maintain production quality
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
Qualifications
At least 5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist including experience setting up and running live tooling lathes
Experience setting up and running horizontal and vertical machining centers
Experience with Okuma, Mori Seiki, Kitamura, and Haas CNC machine tools preferred
Ability to edit programs at the machine
Strong understanding of G and M codes required
Strong knowledge of milling tooling required
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
Ability to work onsite in a manufacturing environment
