MAU is hiring a CNC Machinist for our client in Pooler, GA.

As a CNC Machinist, you will independently set up and operate large CNC lathes to machine gas turbine components to tight tolerances while supporting safe, high-quality manufacturing operations. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity.

Shift Information

  • Second Shift: 4:00 PM - 2:30 AM
  • Initial training period of 3-6 months on first shift

Required Education and Experience

  • 5-7+ years of CNC machining experience in heavy industrial manufacturing
  • Strong experience operating large lathes
  • Proven ability to machine large, tight-tolerance components

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Experience with alloy steels, carbon steels, stainless steels, and large forgings

General Requirements

  • Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willingness to work second shift after initial training period
  • Demonstrate core competencies including action orientation, change champion mindset, customer focus, developing self and others, and ownership

Essential Functions

  • Independently set up and operate large CNC lathes ranging from 110-220 tons
  • Machine large gas turbine components to tight dimensional and geometric tolerances
  • Interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
  • Select tooling, fixtures, and machining strategies for large forgings and castings
  • Optimize cutting parameters to improve quality, cycle time, and tool life
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measurement tools
  • Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and process issues with minimal supervision
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality teams to support first-time-right builds
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards
