CNC Machinist / Programmer Level 2 is an advanced-level role responsible for programming complex parts and assemblies using Mastercam, while serving as a subject matter expert in machining strategy, tooling selection, and process optmization. This position goes beyond basic programming by owning the full programming lifecycle—from concept through production—ensuring efficiency, repeatability, and quality. The Level 2 Programmer plays a key role in mentoring Level 1 programmers, supporting machinists, and driving continuous improvement across machining operations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Advanced proficiency in Mastercam, including complex toolpath generation and postprocessing.
Strong experse in CNC machining processes (milling and/or turning), including multi-axis machining.
In-depth knowledge of tooling, tool geometry, coatings, and cutting applications.
Proven experience with machine setup, workholding design, and fixture validation
Strong understanding and practical application of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning &Tolerancing)
Proficiency in inspection methods, including use of precision measurement tools(micrometers, calipers, height gauges, indicators, etc.)
Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and translate them into efficient machining processes
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with minimal supervision
