CV-Tek is seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Elgin, Illinois.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys both setting up and running CNC lathes in a high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environment. Unlike many production shops, our work involves a wide variety of parts and equipment, providing opportunities to use your machining skills and problem-solving abilities every day.

Schedule
1st Shift
7:00 PM - 3:30 PM
Overtime available
No weekend work currently
What You'll Do
Set up and operate CNC lathes
Run production jobs and monitor machine performance
Make tooling and offset adjustments as needed
Read and interpret blueprints and work instructions
Inspect parts to ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances
Use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, gauges, and comparators
Troubleshoot machining issues and identify process improvements
Work closely with engineering and manufacturing personnel
Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area
Complete required production documentation
Work overtime as needed

Requirements
Required:
3-5 years of CNC lathe setup experience
Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes
Experience with Fanuc controls
Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Ability to use precision measuring equipment
Strong math and computer skills
Strong attention to detail
Commitment to quality and safety
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:
Experience machining stainless steel and non-ferrous materials
Experience with live tooling, tailstocks, and sub-spindle transfers
