CNC Manufacturing Operator — VMC/Lathe Setup & Production
About the role
Join a family-owned precision CNC shop in Pacoima, CA. We’re adding a detail-driven operator to run CNC mills and lathes, turn engineering drawings into parts that meet exacting standards, and keep production moving safely and smoothly.
Schedule & compensation
Type: Full-time, Temp-to-Hire
Hours: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Pay: $20–$24 per hour (DOE)
Location: Pacoima, CA
What you’ll do
Interpret work orders, blueprints, and orthographic drawings to plan machining sequences.
Monitor inventory levels; check stock on hand and request materials in advance.
Program mills and lathes, defining zero/reference points and making offset corrections.
Set up chucks (three/four-jaw), cutting tools, and attachments for each job.
Load and secure raw material; verify machine parameters prior to cycle start.
Run first articles and inspect sample parts to validate dimensions and positions.
Execute drilling, grooving, turning, facing, knurling, and thread-chasing operations.
Adhere to all safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
Perform preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
Record production and quality data; communicate at shift transitions to ensure continuity.
Pursue training to stay current and expand your machining expertise.
What you bring
Experience operating CNC milling equipment.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Strong technical/computer skills and mechanical aptitude.
Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to quality.
