CNC Material Handler - Weekend Day Shift Pay: $15 - $18/hr. Location: Pearland, TX Temp to Hire
Summary Openwork, formerly Meador Staffing is seeking a Material Handler who is trying to get into a proper machine shop, but may not yet have the experience or has experience that doesn’t necessarily translate immediately and are eager to start learning.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include conducting routine dimensional inspections of machined parts using basic measuring tools.
Moving materials and parts throughout the shop floor, transporting raw materials to machines, and relocating finished parts to inspection areas or shipping.
Daily machine support tasks include filling coolant tanks, emptying chip hoppers, and performing basic housekeeping around CNC equipment.
Assists operators with first article inspections, conducts in-process quality checks during production runs, and identifies non-conforming parts for quarantine.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining cleanliness of work areas, and organizing measuring equipment.
Documenting basic inspection results on job travelers, and alerting supervisors to quality issues or equipment problems.
Material Handler will shadow operators to become accustomed to the company standards to better develop their skills.
Requirements
Ability to follow written work instructions.
Maintain attention to detail while performing repetitive inspection tasks throughout the shift.
Previous experience working in industrial environments
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs daily
Must follow safety procedures and standards
Time management
High School Diploma or equivalent
Ability to work in non-climate controlled environment
Schedule Weekend Day Shifts (Friday - Sunday) 5 AM - 5 PM (work 36 hours, but paid full 40 hours) Why Openwork?
