Now hiring CNC Setup Operator / CNC Machinist!
Location: Bloomington, IN
Shift: Mon-Fri, 7:00am - 3:00pm
Pay: Based on experience, range from $20-25
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled CNC Setup Operator to join our team. This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines while meeting production, quality, and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience performing machine setups, troubleshooting machining issues, reading blueprints, and operating multiple CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines for new and existing production jobs
- Operate multiple CNC machines while maintaining production and quality standards
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
- Perform inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure product quality
- Troubleshoot machining and production issues to minimize downtime
- Verify proper tooling, fixtures, and equipment are available before production runs
- Complete and maintain required documentation, including maintenance logs, tooling records, and quality records
- Perform routine operator preventive maintenance on equipment
- Train and assist new operators as needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and machining processes
- Properly care for machines, tooling, and other company equipment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous CNC machining, setup, or operator experience required
- Ability to independently perform machine setups and operate CNC equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Knowledge of precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques
- Good math and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
