Produces machined parts programming, setting up, and operating a CNC machine and manual mills and lathes machines; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies; and supervising and guiding the machining department.
Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, and conditional switches and proving part programs for proper sequencing of operations, finished work piece dimensions, or numerical control sequences.
Verifies settings by measuring positions; calculating dimensions or tolerances, using instruments such as micrometers or vernier calipers; first-run part and sample workpieces; adhering to the international standards.
Make adjustments to the machine to control speed, material feed and path of the cut, as well as make sure the machines are set up properly, working well, and producing quality product.
Other duties as assigned.
