CNC Programmer (Mastercam / Mazatrol)

CNC Programmer (Mastercam / Mazatrol) – Costa Mesa, CA

An established industrial valve manufacturer is hiring a CNC Programmer to create, prove out and maintain CNC programs for machining castings. This is a full-time, onsite role reporting to the Machine Shop Manager.

Pay: $30–$45/hr, depending on experience

Shifts: Day shift 5:00am–1:30pm or Night shift 1:30pm–10:30pm

Responsibilities

• Write CNC programs in Mastercam and Mazatrol for machining operations on castings, working from engineering designs and specifications
• Plan processes and setups, choosing optimal cutter paths, speeds and feed rates
• Select and recommend tooling, and prepare complete setup and operating instructions for CNC machines
• Run tests on new programs to make sure they are high quality and safe to run
• Maintain, update and edit all CNC programs and work records
• Work with the shop floor and other departments as needed

Requirements

• 2–4+ years of CNC programming with Mastercam for mills and lathes in a production environment
• Mazatrol programming experience
• Experience programming operations for castings
• Strong knowledge of G-code, canned cycles, SFM and material removal rates
• Able to read engineering drawings, with working knowledge of trigonometry as used in CAD/CAM
• Hands-on CNC operating experience preferred
