Nesco Resource is looking for a CNC Programmer/Toolmaker located in Bethel, CT. This is a temp to perm opportunity for the right candidate.

Shift: Monday-Friday 7AM-3PM

Pay: $31-$49/hour depending on experience

Position Overview: Are you an experienced CNC Programmer/Toolmaker looking to work with advanced machining equipment and challenging, precision-driven projects? We are seeking a skilled professional to program, set up, and operate a variety of CNC machines while supporting prototype development, process improvements, and precision manufacturing. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong programming experience, particularly with 5-axis machining, who enjoys solving complex manufacturing challenges and producing high-quality parts.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC milling machines (3-axis and 5-axis), CNC lathes, Wire EDM, and waterjet equipment.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and work instructions to develop efficient machining processes.
  • Manufacture complex, tight-tolerance precision components using a variety of materials.
  • Select, preset, adjust, and replace cutting tools to optimize machining performance.
  • Design and build custom fixtures and work holding solutions to improve production efficiency.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and optical inspection equipment.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions to improve quality and productivity.
  • Provide design-for-manufacturability (DFM) feedback to engineering teams.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to develop and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Create labor and material estimates from engineering drawings.
  • Complete manufacturing documentation and in-process inspections accurately.
  • Train and support machinists and operators as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines, tooling, and fixtures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all quality and safety standards.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree in a machining or manufacturing-related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of CNC programming and machining experience.
  • Strong experience programming 5-axis CNC machines.
  • Experience with CNC mills, lathes, Wire EDM, and/or waterjet equipment.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam, GibbsCAM, or Esprit.
  • Strong understanding of G-Code, M-Code, GD&T, blueprint reading, and machinist math.
  • Experience using precision inspection equipment, including micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, microscopes, and optical measuring equipment.
  • Ability to design tooling, fixtures, and work holding solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with tight-tolerance precision machining.
  • Knowledge of ISO quality systems or regulated manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.
