We are seeking an experienced CNC Setup Machinists to support a high-precision manufacturing operation in the San Jose area.
This is a hands-on setup and machining position responsible for producing large, complex, tight-tolerance components on 3-axis, 5-axis, and CNC lathe machines. The ideal candidate can independently set up jobs, interpret complex drawings and GD&T, make machine adjustments, inspect their work, and troubleshoot machining issues.
Shift: 1st shift
Compensation: Competitive, market-rate compensation based on experience and technical capabilities. Specific compensation will be discussed during the interview process.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate complex CNC machines producing complex precision components.
Install and indicate fixtures, tooling, and workpieces for multi-axis machining operations.
Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, tolerances, and GD&T.
Load and verify CNC programs and make necessary offsets and machine adjustments.
Work with controls such as Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, or similar platforms.
Determine and adjust machine parameters to maintain effective cutting conditions.
Perform first article and in-process inspections to verify dimensional accuracy.
Use precision inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, and CMM equipment.
Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain tight tolerances and part quality.
