CNC Setup & Programming Machinist (Mill/Lathe)

Schedule: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM start) or 3rd Shift (10:30 PM start)

Compensation: $25.00–$33.00 per hour (W2)

Day in the Life

You clock in for your evening or overnight shift, review the day’s production specs, and move straight to programming and setting up CNC equipment. You load the program, make light code edits as needed, and verify tooling offsets. Throughout the run, you measure critical features with handheld gauges to confirm everything matches print. If surfaces need blending, you grab hand tools or machinery to fine-tune finishes. When a new job hits the queue, you reconfigure fixtures, swap tooling, and modify components to meet exact requirements—all while keeping your work cell 5S-ready and aligned to health, safety, and environmental practices.

What You’ll Do

• Program, set up, and operate CNC and conventional machines to produce high-quality parts to specification.
• Load programs and make simple edits when needed to ensure optimal performance.
• Inspect, measure, and validate parts meet tolerance using handheld measuring tools.
• Blend surfaces and remove/add material using hand tools or machinery to achieve specified finishes.
• Set up and utilize machines, fixtures, and tooling; adjust processes to meet print and production requirements.
• Modify parts to match engineering specifications and follow production specs for assembling newly manufactured parts.
• Maintain a clean, organized area using 5S; follow company health, safety, and environmental policies.
• Work with awareness of ISO and Total Customer Satisfaction (TCS) quality expectations.
• Uphold the Corporate Code of Ethical Standards.
• Use computerized tracking systems as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Passing score on a job-related test.
• Two or more years of machining experience preferred.
• Ability to read and write in English and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Proficient with handheld measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
• Works effectively independently and within a team.
• Solid basic math skills.
