Express Employment Professionals in Lynchburg is seeking a CNC Shop Supervisor for one of its well-established clients in the Lynchburg area. This full-time leadership position offers an opportunity for an experienced manufacturing professional to lead a skilled machining team in a precision manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with the ability to motivate employees, solve problems, and maintain high production standards.

Skills and Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing management or leadership experience required
• Strong working knowledge of CNC machining equipment and machine shop operations
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings
• Experience troubleshooting machinery, identifying production issues, and developing practical solutions
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to meet production goals, maintain quality standards, and manage deadlines
• Familiarity with machine setup, tooling, dimensional inspection, and quality control preferred
• Experience with CNC mills and Swiss-style lathes preferred
• Previous machine shop management experience and hands-on CNC machinist experience strongly preferred
• High school diploma or GED required

Job Responsibilities

• Supervise CNC machinists and machine operators while promoting teamwork, accountability, and professional development
• Develop and maintain production schedules for CNC mills and Swiss-style lathes
• Coordinate employee schedules and daily shop operations to meet production demands
• Troubleshoot machining issues and work with technical personnel to minimize equipment downtime
• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules to support equipment reliability
• Train, mentor, and evaluate machine operators and machinists
• Monitor production efficiency, machining accuracy, and quality standards
• Identify opportunities to improve shop processes, productivity, and workflow
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures and maintain an organized machining environment
• Establish clear performance expectations and support employees in achieving production goals

Pay and Schedule

Pay: $65,000 to $90,000 a year, depending on skills and experience.

Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Additional Hours: Occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays may be required based on operational needs.
