Openwork is currently engaged in a search to find a skilled and precision-driven CNC Turn Machine Operator in Marietta, GA. In this high-impact night-shift role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC turning centers that manufacture high-performance components for side-by-sides (UTVs) and heavy-duty diesel engines. In a CNC Turn Machine Operator job you'll be responsible for:
Operating and setting up CNC lathe and turning machines to produce precision parts for side-by-sides and diesel engine assemblies.
Reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and job routers to ensure exact machining specifications.
Loading raw materials and bar stock, securing workpieces, and setting appropriate tooling offsets.
Inspecting finished parts using precision measurement tools, including micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and bore gauges.
Performing basic machine offsets, tool changes, and routine preventive maintenance to ensure peak equipment performance.
Monitoring production runs to detect machine malfunctions or tooling wear, making adjustments as needed.
Maintaining clean, safe, and organized machine stations in compliance with all safety and 5S standards.
What you'll need:
2+ years of hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC turning machines (lathes).
Strong blueprint reading skills and a solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Proven experience using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height gauges).
Background in automotive, powersports, or diesel engine manufacturing preferred.
Ability to work a 12-hour overnight schedule and stand for extended periods.
Strong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
Perks:
Pay Rate: $25.00 – $30.00/hour (based on experience).
Schedule: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, Monday through Thursday (Enjoy a 3-day weekend every week!).
