Co-Op - Chemical Engineering (Process R&D)

Overview:

Snapdragon Chemistry is currently seeking exceptional candidates to work as a co-op within our chemical engineering team. A successful candidate will be joining a group of innovative and entrepreneurial scientists and engineers.  This position is focused on supporting Cambrex’s Digital Twin program, which encompasses using modeling in combination with process data, physical properties, and equipment information to support process understanding and technology transfer.

We are looking for a candidate who has a passion for learning and working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be pursuing a bachelors or master’s degree to be completed by 2028. Candidates must possess strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Leverage scientific knowledge and develop technology to solve analytical challenges in pharmaceutical process development. 

• Contribute to day-to-day analytical laboratory operations and assist in method setup and equipment troubleshooting. 

• Contribute to activities that build upon Snapdragon Chemistry’s proprietary knowledge and technology fulfill their value creation potential. 

• Participate in project teams to complete complex deliverables within stringent timelines and communicate results to key stakeholders. 

• Ensure up-to-date knowledge of continuous flow technology, process analytical technologies and process development principles. 

• Ensure that the integrity and profile of Snapdragon 

Qualifications / Skills::

• Excellent verbal and written communication/interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a diverse team environment are essential.
• Proficiency with Microsoft software (SharePoint, Word / EXCEL / PowerPoint) is expected.
• Basic understanding of undergraduate chemical engineering curriculum.
• Basic understanding and awareness of key engineering R&D equipment (e.g. pumps, heat exchangers, reactors)
• With manager supervision, able to comply with SOPs and basic regulatory guidance
• Limited understanding and awareness of key analytical R&D equipment; can operate with supervision
• Basic understanding of the laboratory investigation process
• Shares ideas with peers.
• Ability to keep a good laboratory notebook and perform data entry, compliance with GDP
• Ability to organize work efficiently and manage time effectively.
• Maintain familiarity with the company’s chemical hygiene plan. 
• Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices.
• Follow responsible actions regarding chemical disposal. Maintain compliance with all regulation at the federal, state and local levels.

Qualifications:

Actively pursuing a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field
