Cincinnati Incorporated is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op to gain hands-on experience improving manufacturing processes, equipment, safety, quality, and efficiency. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and production teams while gaining exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, process improvement, data analysis, cycle-time studies, and material flow.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated engineering student who wants to apply what they’re learning in the classroom to real-world manufacturing challenges in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Assist Kaizen teams and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives
• Collect, enter, and analyze manufacturing data to identify improvement opportunities
• Support 5S activities and plant-floor improvement efforts
• Perform cycle-time studies and help establish production standards
• Assist with process layouts and material flow improvements
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs, waste, downtime, and scrap
• Recommend and support improvements to manufacturing processes
• Assist the Continuous Improvement Manager with Lean activities that support production goals

What We’re Looking For:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Experience with AutoCAD or ERP systems is a plus
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Desire to work hands-on in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Position Overview

Cincinnati Incorporated is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Co-op who would like to gain practical experience supporting manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. This position will work closely with engineering, production, maintenance, and other teams to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and overall manufacturing processes.

Essential Functions

• Assist Kaizen teams and foster involvement of all associates in lean practices and efforts.
• Data collection, entry and analysis with improvement plans. May include, but not limited to productivity, total productive maintenance (TPM), downtime, scrap and change over initiatives.
• Leads 5S efforts, including planning, implementing, leading and supporting plant floor and maintenance activities.
• Perform cycle time studies to create and validate production standards including standardized work.
• Process layout and material flow.
• Identify and implement cost and waste reduction activities.
• Recommend improvements to manufacturing processes

Assist Continuous Improvement Manager in lean activities to support production in hitting daily tasks.

Work Experience

Required Experience: Less than 1 year

• Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal skills
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, or ERP systems (training will be provided if needed)
• Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Must be organized and adaptable
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision

Education

Required Degree Level: Undergraduate

Must be a currently enrolled, degree seeking student from an accredited engineering program majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other Engineering related discipline.
