Position: COBOL, UNIX Developer Location: Boston, MA
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced COBOL/UNIX Developer to support and enhance enterprise applications in a financial services environment. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in COBOL development, UNIX/Linux systems, SQL, and application support. Experience in banking, capital markets, or custody services is highly preferred. Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL applications.
Analyze business and technical requirements and implement solutions.
Work in UNIX/Linux environments for application deployment and support.
Develop and optimize SQL queries and database interactions.
Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues.
Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders.
Participate in code reviews and system enhancements.
Prepare technical documentation and support application releases.
Required Skills
Strong experience with COBOL programming.
Experience working in UNIX/Linux environments.
Proficiency in SQL and relational databases (Oracle, DB2, or Sybase).
Experience with Shell scripting.
Knowledge of batch processing and job scheduling.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
Experience with source code/version control tools.
Preferred Skills
Financial services or Capital Markets experience.

Exposure to Mainframe technologies (JCL, CICS, VSAM, DB2).
Agile/Scrum development methodology.
