What You’ll HandleThe Code Compliance Inspector helps keep Cortez safe, clean, and orderly by applying the City’s Property Maintenance, Municipal, and Land Use codes fairly and consistently. You’ll balance scheduled follow-ups with new calls that come in, then capture photos and notes on a phone or camera and update records in the system. Midday often includes conversations at a job site or storefront—explaining next steps, timelines, and options in a calm, respectful way. Back at the office, you’ll organize documentation, map locations in GIS, and coordinate with internal partners as needed. The day wraps with planning tomorrow’s routes and ensuring case files are complete and ready for the next action.
