Cold Heading Operations Supervisor – Aerospace Fasteners

Location: Burbank, CA

Employment Type: Full-time, Temp-to-Hire

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:00 AM – 1:30 PM

Compensation: $35–$50 per hour, depending on experience

A day in this role

Before most of the city wakes, you’re mapping the day’s production for hot heading, cold heading, and trimming lines. You stage operators to the right machines, confirm tooling and material requisitions, and sync with the tool room supervisor to lock in critical dimensions. As the shift hits full stride, you’re coaching operators through setups, solving machine hiccups, and walking the floor to safeguard quality, throughput, and safety. When needed, you jump on a header to run parts yourself—modeling precision and pace. By midday, you’ve reviewed production paperwork for accuracy, noted any repair needs or unsafe conditions, and kept the team motivated, accountable, and productive.

What you’ll do

• Own product quality and output across header and trimmer departments.
• Supervise and instruct hot header, cold header, and trimmer personnel to achieve safe, efficient, cost-effective results.
• Train production staff on setups, troubleshooting, and best practices.
• Plan the work: schedule jobs and assign operators to machinery.
• Complete and process material requisitions to keep lines running.
• Partner with the tool room supervisor to meet dimensional targets and resolve tooling issues.
• Guide operators in diagnosing setup and machine malfunctions.
• Alert supervisors to required machine repairs and any unsafe working conditions.
• Motivate the team, apply discipline when required, and enforce company policies.
• Evaluate candidates for open roles and conduct performance reviews for current team members.
• Verify production paperwork accuracy before handing it to the Production Department Coordinator.
• Set up and run machinery as needed to meet schedule and quality goals.
• Provide daily leadership and direction to the heading department.
