Optional benefits such as critical care, auto, home, and pet insurance are also available.SUMMARY Collections Specialist is responsible for managing delinquent accounts through direct customer engagement, legal processes, and administrative follow‑up.RESPONSIBILITIES Initiate and manage outbound collection calls to customers with past‑due accounts.Conduct skip tracing to locate customers who are unresponsive or have moved without notice.Prepare and file legal documentation for repossessions, garnishments, and other legal remedies.Draft and send collection letters in accordance with company policy and regulatory guidelines.Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of all collection activities in the system of record.Collaborate with branch staff and legal teams to elevate accounts requiring legal recourse.Monitor and follow up on accounts in litigation or repossession status.Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws governing debt collection practices (e.g., FDCPA).Provide exceptional customer service while negotiating payment arrangements.BASIC REQUIREMENTS High school diploma or equivalent required.5 years of experience in consumer finance collections or a related field.Familiarity with skip tracing tools and legal collection procedures.Strong organizational and documentation skills.Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and collection software systems.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a branch environment.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.Associate or bachelor's degree preferred.Experience with auto loan or personal loan collections.Knowledge of repossession and legal filing processes.COMPENSATION The salary range for this position is $24/hr – $30/hr, based on the specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience of the selected candidate.
