Required: * High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience * 3-6 months of hands-on experience in billing, payments, or collections (or similar) * Working knowledge of insurance billing procedures and payment practices * Outstanding written and verbal communication skills * Professionalism, tact, and customer-first thinking in all interactions * Bilingual skills are a plus Duties Include: * Processing patient payments (cash, check, credit card) received in person and by mail * Auditing account balances and correcting posting errors * Updating Federal Poverty Levels and applying sliding scale adjustments * Documenting collection efforts, bankruptcy notices, and resolution notes * Supporting billing for Commercial Insurance, Medicare, OHP, Workers' Comp, Personal Injury claims * Fielding billing inquiries as the primary phone contact * Welcoming walk-in patients to the billing office with empathy and professionalism * Investigating complaints and applying fixes under Billing Supervisor guidance * Tackling special projects and additional duties as needed
