Job Title: Collections Specialist

Location: New Castle, DE (Onsite)

Pay: $20.00 - $21.00/hr.

Employment Type: Contract to Hire

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Collections Specialist to manage outstanding accounts and ensure timely payment from customers. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to handle sensitive financial conversations while maintaining positive client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

-         Monitor accounts to identify outstanding balances and overdue payments

-         Contact customers via phone, email, or written correspondence to collect payments

-         Resolve billing issues and discrepancies in a timely manner

-         Negotiate payment plans when necessary and follow up on commitments

-         Maintain accurate records of all collection activities

-         Collaborate with internal teams to address account concerns

-         Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws and regulations

-         Prepare reports on collection status and aging accounts

Qualifications

-         1–3 years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or a related role

-         Strong communication and negotiation skills

-         Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritize tasks effectively

-         Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting or CRM software

-         High level of attention to detail and accuracy

-         Professional, customer-focused approach

-         Experience in a high-volume collections environment
