Another Source’s client, San Francisco State University, is recruiting a College Corps Coordinator to join their team in San Francisco, California.  

First and foremost, this position requires someone with a strong work ethic.  The work is fast-paced and involves the ability to adapt to changing priorities but is also immensely fulling and fun. 

This position requires onsite presence on campus 5 days/week but allows for a flexible schedule to attend exciting events to get the word out about the program! Relocation assistance is not available.

San Francisco State University’s Institute for Civic & Community Engagement (ICCE) connects students, faculty, and community partners through civic engagement, experiential learning, and community-based programs. Within ICCE, California College Corps creates opportunities for students to serve their communities while developing leadership skills, professional experience, and a deeper connection to civic life. 

The College Corps Coordinator plays a hands-on role in making that experience possible. From recruiting and supporting Fellows to building strong community partnerships and keeping a complex state- and federally funded program running smoothly, this position combines student engagement, program administration, community partnership development, events, communications, and grant compliance.  

About this role: 

Reporting to the Executive Director, the College Corps Coordinator will manage an assigned portfolio of Fellows and community partners while working collaboratively with other College Corps Coordinators as a cross-trained member of the team. 

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and wants their work to have a direct impact on students and the broader community. You’ll guide Fellows throughout their College Corps experience, build relationships with community organizations, coordinate engaging educational programming, and help ensure the program meets university, California Volunteers, AmeriCorps, and grant requirements. 

Your Contribution Will Likely Include 

Program Coordination & Fellow Engagement – 30% 

• Coordinate the full Fellow experience, from recruitment, application review, and selection through onboarding, placement, participation, completion, and program exit.  

• Serve as a primary resource for an assigned portfolio of Fellows, helping them navigate program expectations, deadlines, resources, and requirements.  

• Monitor service hours, attendance, eligibility, participation, and program milestones while proactively identifying barriers to successful participation.  

• Design and facilitate orientations, Team Circles, professional development workshops, leadership activities, reflection sessions, and other educational programming.  

• Create opportunities that strengthen Fellows’ civic engagement, career readiness, leadership development, and professional skills.  

• Coordinate Fellow participation in campus events, service projects, conferences, outreach activities, recognition events, and graduation celebrations.  

Community Partnership Development & Engagement – 20% 

• Build and manage relationships with an assigned portfolio of community partner organizations.  

• Recruit, onboard, and support community partners and Fellowship Supervisors throughout the academic year.  

• Coordinate partnership agreements, position descriptions, placement processes, evaluations, and site visits.  

• Provide partners with guidance on program expectations, student supervision, compliance requirements, and best practices.  

• Support ICCE initiatives such as community-based service programs, food security efforts, volunteer engagement, and other experiential learning opportunities.  

Program Administration, Compliance & Fiscal Operations – 25% 

• Coordinate administrative operations supporting the successful implementation of College Corps.  

• Interpret and apply university, CSU, California Volunteers, AmeriCorps, and grant policies and requirements.  

• Coordinate eligibility verification, background check processes, MyAmeriCorps enrollment, America Learns documentation, and other participant requirements.  

• Maintain accurate participant records and program databases and monitor service hours, living allowance eligibility, education award eligibility, and supporting documentation.  

• Track and reconcile program expenditures, purchasing transactions, reimbursements, P-Card activity, and other fiscal records.  

• Maintain financial, procurement, and administrative documentation supporting grant reporting, audits, and compliance.  

Communications, Outreach & Program Promotion – 10% 

• Develop communications for Fellows, community partners, campus stakeholders, and prospective applicants.  

• Coordinate recruitment campaigns across print, digital, and social media channels.  

• Create presentations, newsletters, webpages, graphics, marketing materials, and other resources that promote College Corps.  

• Represent ICCE and College Corps at recruitment fairs, campus events, conferences, presentations, and community outreach activities.  

Assessment, Events & Continuous Improvement – 10% 

• Coordinate orientations, trainings, leadership programs, partner meetings, retreats, networking opportunities, recognition programs, and special events.  

• Collect and analyze program data to support assessment, grant reporting, and evaluation.  

• Develop reports, surveys, dashboards, and recommendations that help strengthen program effectiveness and the participant experience.  

• Identify opportunities to improve operations and contribute to strategic planning and new initiatives.  

Approximately 5% of the position will support other duties and institute priorities as assigned.  

Experience You Will Bring 

• A bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving analysis, evaluation, and the development or improvement of programs, practices, policies, or procedures.  

• Experience independently planning, organizing, coordinating, and completing administrative or program-related work.  

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while exercising sound judgment and initiative.  

• Experience collecting, evaluating, and interpreting information and data to develop recommendations and improve programs.  

• Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and administrative practices.  

• Ability to interpret policies, procedures, and regulations and translate them into effective program operations.  

• Strong written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.  

• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, staff, community organizations, and other internal and external stakeholders.  

• Ability to anticipate challenges, develop solutions, and proactively address program needs.  

• Commitment to collaboration, client service, inclusion, and creating a supportive environment for people from diverse backgrounds.  

Experience with AmeriCorps, California College Corps, grant-funded service programs, civic engagement, experiential learning, higher education, cohort-based programming, community partnerships, participant data systems, educational programming, or outreach and communications is especially valuable.  

This position is designated as a mandated reporter under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and must comply with CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment. A background check is also required. Occasional evening and/or weekend work and travel between campus and community partner locations may be necessary. The position includes occasional lifting and moving of event and outreach materials weighing up to 20 pounds.

The anticipated annual salary for this position is $63,000 – $64,000.
