    Collision Advisor/Estimator Apprentice
    Full Time Hourly (Non-Exempt)
    Car Center Kentwood
    Schedule: 8am - 5pm, Monday through Friday

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: 

    • Assist with day-to-day business including answering phones, accurately entering data into CCC, assisting customers, etc. 
    • Collaborate with senior estimators in reviewing damaged vehicles with customers and insurance adjusters 
    • Collaborate with senior estimators in writing accurate, profitable damage reports and taking required photos for insurance submission and electronic filing
    • Ordering parts for repair orders and collaborating with Centralized Parts team for best margin
    • Effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, insurance adjusters and rental companies on the status of vehicle repairs
    • Shadow and assist support roles within the shop to gain greater knowledge and skills and offer support as skills increase 
    • Maintain exceptional customer service (following Customer Core Six, Proven Process, and EDGE Guides)
    • Cover out-of-office estimators within the company during (at any locations as needed)
    • Cover out-of-office CSR/Parts Coordinators within current location as needed
    • Help diagnose potential production issues within the shop
    • All other duties as assigned 

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) 

    • Valid and clean driver’s license (required for insurance purposes) 

    • Experience with CCC estimating system (preferred) 

    • I-Car training (preferred) 

    • Strong ability to take initiative and follow-through 

    • Builds strong rapport and relationships with adjusters, customers, team members, etc. 

    • Solid administrative skillset and attention to detail 

    • Quick assimilation to the Company Core Values, Customer Core Six, Proven Process, and EDGE Guides 

    • Strong & professional communication skills (verbal and written)

    • Ability to withstand environmental conditions of Auto Body Shop 
    • Ability to withstand all weather conditions  
    • Ability to work on a computer for long/extended periods of time 
    • Ability to transport vehicles from shop to shop as needed
