Color Guard Instructor

FENTON COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 100 JOB DESCRIPTION TITLE: COLOR GUARD INSTRUCTOR REPORTS TO: ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL OF STUDENT LIFE & OPERATIONS / DIVISION LEADER OF FINE ARTS BASIC FUNCTION: WRITE THE ROUTINES AND PREPARE STUDENTS FOR PERFORMANCES WITH THE MARCHING BAND The Color Guard Instructor shall be responsible for the following duties, including, but not limited to: ASSIGNED RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Prepare the Color Guard to perform with the Marching Band at all Marching Band performances
2. Direct at least one Color Guard rehearsal each week throughout the Marching Band season
3. Attend, with the Color Guard, summer band camp as well as at least one rehearsal a week with the Marching Band during the Marching Band season
4. Hold tryouts and assist in the recruitment of members of the Color Guard
5. Choreograph Color Guard routines appropriate for the group
6. Teach the students basic Color Guard skills
7. Be present at all Color Guard performances, practices, and activities
8. Coordinate with the Marching Band Director all budgetary needs
9. Maintain, repair, and secure all Color Guard equipment
10. Coordinate and secure with the Marching band director appropriate uniforms for the Color Guard
11. Coordinate and secure appropriate practice space for any other additional facilities needed for the Color Guard
