Commercial Construction Assistant Estimator

Assistant Estimator

A growing commercial construction company is seeking an Assistant Estimator to support the preconstruction and estimating team. This individual will work closely with Senior Estimators, Project Managers, subcontractors, and vendors to develop accurate and competitive project estimates.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with quantity takeoffs and reviewing plans, specifications, and scopes of work.

• Support preparation of estimates, bid proposals, and subcontractor bid packages.

• Solicit and follow up with subcontractors and vendors for pricing.

• Assist with bid leveling, scope comparisons, and cost analysis.

• Maintain organized estimating files, budgets, and bid documentation.

• Research material, labor, and subcontractor costs.

• Assist with value engineering and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

• Communicate with project teams regarding estimating assumptions and project requirements.

• Support Senior Estimators throughout the complete bidding process.

Qualifications:

• Construction estimating or related experience preferred.

• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.

• Strong mathematical, analytical, and organizational skills.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and estimating software is a plus.

• Construction Management or related degree preferred but not required.
