     Job Description:

    Preconstruction Estimator

    We are looking for an experienced Preconstruction Estimator to join our team in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree, a minimum of two years of experience in commercial preconstruction environments, and a thorough understanding of the construction bid process.

    The Preconstruction Estimator will be responsible for preparing project estimates, reading engineering documents and specifications, sourcing for new trades, and working with Finance on planning for project hand-offs. The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge of estimation tools and the ability to prepare project schedules.

    Responsibilities:

    Prepare project estimates and cost analysis

    Read engineering documents and specifications

    Source for new trades

    Work with Finance on planning for project hand-offs

    Prepare project schedules

    Monitor project progress and report any issues

    Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

    Maintain accurate records of all project activities

    Provide technical advice and support to project teams

    Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors

    Participate in project meetings and provide input

    Assist in the development of project budgets

    Negotiate contracts with vendors and subcontractors

    Ensure all projects are completed on time and within budget

    Monitor project costs and ensure they are within budget

    Provide guidance and support to project teams

    Ensure all project deliverables are met

    Qualifications:

    Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

    A minimum of two years of experience in commercial preconstruction environments

    Excellent knowledge of estimation tools

    Ability to read engineering documents and specifications

    Ability to prepare project schedules

    Ability to source for new trades

    Thorough understanding of the construction bid process

    Ability to work with Finance on planning for project hand-offs

    Excellent communication and organizational skills

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

    This position offers a competitive salary of between $150,000 and $200,000, depending on experience. If you are an experienced Preconstruction Estimator looking for an exciting opportunity, we want to hear from you.
