    Description

    Job Summary:

    The Commercial HVAC Service Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy commercial HVAC systems, including electrical, mechanical, control, and refrigerant components. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to safety and customer service. Technicians must be capable of interpreting wiring diagrams, documenting service activities, and collaborating with team members to ensure efficient and high-quality service delivery. The position demands physical stamina and the ability to work in varied and sometimes challenging environments. EPA Universal certification and a minimum of five years of commercial HVAC experience are required.

    Responsibilities:

    • Compliance: Adhere to SPC Mechanical safety protocols to assure a safe working environment you and your coworkers.
    • Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on heavy commercial HVAC systems to ensure optimal performance.
    • Repairs: Diagnose problems/failures in heavy commercial HVAC, including electrical, controls, mechanical, and refrigerant components, and implement effective repair solutions.
    • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service performed, including maintenance logs, repair reports, and inventory of parts used.
    • Customer Service: Interact with clients to understand their needs, provide technical support, and deliver exceptional service.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians and support staff to enhance service and improve operational efficiency.

    Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of Commercial HVAC Service
    • EPA Universal
    • Valid Driver’s license and insurable driving record
    • Advanced Customer Service skills/communications skills
    • Time Management skills
    • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams
    • Ability to work well with other team members
    • Be familiar with a wide range of heavy commercial HVAC equipment and troubleshooting techniques
    • Basic computer skills: examples, MS Office, emails, web and app-based operation
    • Experience in making repair and replacement decisions
    • Must be able to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel and must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds

     

    Work Environment:

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places, outside weather conditions and vibration.
