Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial HVAC Technician to deliver high-quality service, diagnostic troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs across the Greater Pittsburgh area. In this role, you will work directly with commercial facility managers and building owners to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure critical building systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Our commercial team services high-stakes, mission-critical environments—including hospitals, industrial facilities, manufacturing plants, data centers, clean rooms, and educational institutions. We service all major OEM equipment brands (Trane, Honeywell, Carrier, Johnson Controls, and others). Responsibilities and Expectations

• Accurately diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair a wide variety of commercial mechanical equipment, including Rooftop Units (RTUs) under 20 tons, commercial ice machines, water pumps, boilers, and basic steam systems.

• Maintain direct, daily professional communication with commercial clients, facility managers, and office dispatch personnel regarding job status and system recommendations.

• Service, access, and make minor operational adjustments to building automation and control systems across major OEM platforms (Trane, Honeywell, Carrier, Johnson Controls).

• Provide honest, transparent technical assessments to help clients make informed repair, maintenance, or replacement decisions.

• Provide leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to entry-level technicians and apprentices when paired on field projects.

• Maintain flexibility to occasionally assist or support residential service/installation demand during peak seasons if needed.

• Safely operate and maintain a company-provided service vehicle and gas card, adhering to all fleet and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• Associate degree or vocational certification in HVAC/Refrigeration required.

• Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience servicing commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. Residential service/repair experience is a plus.

• Active EPA Universal Refrigeration License required.

• Deep understanding of the refrigeration cycle, heating appliances, electrical schematics, advanced electrical troubleshooting, and basic steam systems.

• Ability to access controls and perform basic adjustments across major equipment manufacturers.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Excellent communication skills with a positive, team-first attitude.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean, insurable driving record (MVR) and willingness to undergo standard pre-employment background checks and drug testing.
