COMMERCIAL HVAC/REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN
Maiden, NC
Join a growing commercial kitchen equipment service company that's family-owned, laid-back, and built for technicians who want to work hard four days a week and truly own their schedule. You'll handle diverse, hands-on work — from walk-in coolers to rooftop compressors — without micromanagement, GPS tracking, or corporate red tape. If you're looking for a shop that treats you like family and pays you fairly for your time, this is it.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Service and repair commercial kitchen equipment — hoods, HVAC, makeup air, fryers, ovens, grills, dish machines, coolers, walk-ins, and ice machines
- Handle refrigeration and HVAC calls independently (this is the core of the role)
- Pitch in on "hot side" equipment repairs as needed — willingness to cross-train is valued
- Perform brazing and use a multimeter for electrical diagnostics
- Work solo on most calls (typically 2–5 jobs per day); partner up on bigger jobs like rooftop compressor changeouts
- Work on rooftops daily; occasionally access drop ceilings for air handler work in restaurants
- Use ServiceFusion and a few customer-specific systems to manage job details
- Occasionally collect payment on COD accounts (most customers are net-30)
- Volunteer-based availability for occasional overnight/out-of-town jobs
WHY TECHS LIKE WORKING HERE
- Four-day workweek (Mon–Thu) — more time off without sacrificing hours
- Company-stocked van with all major tools (vacuum pumps, torches, etc.) — just bring your own hand tools and meters
- Company credit card covers gas, parts, and daily job needs
- Paid house-to-house — the clock starts the moment you leave, not when you arrive on-site
- Choice of salary or hourly pay — salary option smooths out income through the slower winter season
- On-call pay at time-and-a-half
- PTO: 2 weeks after 90 days, 3 weeks after 1 year, 4 weeks after 2 years, plus limited rollover
- Christmas bonuses, plus performance bonuses on big jobs
- Hotel and meals covered for any overnight travel
- Family-owned culture — no micromanaging, no vehicle tracking, no cameras
