Location: Chicago, IL — Hybrid. Enjoy working in our Chicago office Monday through Thursday, with remote flexibility on Fridays and additional designated periods throughout the year.

Note: We are seeking attorneys with 4+ years of complex litigation experience, including hands-on involvement in discovery, legal brief writing, and pretrial preparation. Candidates must be admitted to practice law in Illinois. Experience with sophisticated commercial litigation or white-collar matters is particularly valuable.

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney to join our Chicago team. This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-level to senior associate looking to expand their litigation expertise while working on challenging, high-impact disputes.In this role, you will:

• Represent sophisticated clients in complex commercial litigation and business disputes.
• Draft compelling motions, briefs, pleadings, and other litigation documents.
• Manage discovery, including document review, written discovery, and deposition preparation.
• Support case strategy, legal research, and pretrial preparation for complex litigation matters.
• Work on disputes involving securities, breach of contract, fraud, fiduciary duties, and other significant commercial claims.
• Assist with class actions, multidistrict litigation, white-collar matters, and regulatory investigations.
• Collaborate with experienced litigation teams on case development, risk assessment, and dispute resolution.
• Gain exposure to emerging litigation areas, including cybersecurity, data privacy, and technology-related disputes.
• Take ownership of meaningful case responsibilities while continuing to develop your advocacy and litigation skills.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to practice law in Illinois.
• 4+ years of experience in complex commercial or civil litigation at a law firm.
• Hands-on experience with discovery, brief writing, and pretrial preparation.
• Strong legal research, written advocacy, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple complex matters and collaborate effectively with clients and litigation teams.
• Experience with securities litigation, class actions, white-collar matters, or sophisticated business disputes preferred.
• Experience at a reputable commercial law firm preferred.
• Strong academic credentials preferred.
• Exposure to cybersecurity or data privacy litigation is a plus.
