Commercial Operations & Analytics Specialist

Nesco Resource is in search of a Commercial Operations & Analytics Specialist to join our client’s team based in Shelton, CT.
 
POSITION SUMMARY
This is a multifaceted administrative role supporting the sales department. The Commercial Operations & Analytics Specialist establishes and maintains the processes, systems, information, analytics, and follow-through required to effectively manage our client's commercial activities. The role provides reliable visibility across customers, opportunities, pipeline, quotes, projects, orders, SROs, commitments, actions, and results while transforming commercial and operational data into actionable business insights.
 
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Own day-to-day Commercial Operations discipline by documenting and improving workflows, ownership, handoffs, priorities, due dates, escalation paths, playbooks, standard work, and data definitions.
• Maintain CRM discipline and data quality; ensure customer, contact, lead, opportunity, activity, next-action, and other required commercial information is complete, current, and accurate.
• Maintain reliable opportunity and pipeline visibility; prepare reviews; identify stalled, aging, incomplete, high-priority, or at-risk opportunities; and support sales forecasting and forecast-accuracy analysis.
• Establish visibility and accountability for quote requests, orders, major customer projects, SRO intake/tracking, customer commitments, milestones, open actions, exceptions, and follow-through.
• Develop dashboards, scorecards, aging/exception reports, KPIs, and a Weekly Commercial Priorities View covering top customers, opportunities, pipeline, projects, quotes, SROs/issues, overdue actions, and decisions required.
• Analyze revenue, bookings, backlog, customer/product/market performance, opportunity conversion, win/loss, purchasing patterns, retention, inactive customers, lead progression, and campaign effectiveness.
• Identify bottlenecks, duplication, incomplete handoffs, and repeatable work that can be eliminated, simplified, standardized, delegated, automated, or supported through AI/RPA.
• Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Application Engineering, Product Management, Sales Administration, Customer Service/Returns, Finance, and Operations to improve commercial execution and decision-making.

 
QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Marketing, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related discipline preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• 2–5 years of experience in commercial/sales operations, business analytics, business operations, project coordination, CRM administration, financial analysis, or a related field preferred; manufacturing, industrial, B2B, or technical sales experience strongly preferred.
• Strong Excel skills required; Power BI or similar BI tools preferred. CRM reporting experience required; HubSpot beneficial. ERP/business systems experience preferred; Infor/SyteLine beneficial. Power Query, SQL, AI, workflow automation, or RPA experience is a plus.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• 3 month temp to hire opportunity (benefits available)
• 1^st shift, Monday – Thursday, 7:30am – 5pm (30 min lunch) and Friday, 7:30am – 11:30am
• Pay range $30 – 33.50/hour; $70K range upon conversion to perm
