Role Summary: The Commercial Operations Supervisor, MOGAS, is responsible for providing local leadership and day-to-day management of the MOGAS Commercial Operations team based in Houston. The role serves as the operational leader for Application Engineers and commercial support resources while ensuring seamless integration with global engineering and commercial resources located in other regions.

Working closely with the Commercial Operations Business Partner, Commercial Operations Director, Product Management, Sales, Operations, and global Application Engineering teams, the Supervisor will develop and implement standardized processes, governance models, communication routines, and performance management mechanisms that enable a truly global and integrated commercial organization.

The primary objective of this position is to improve collaboration, consistency, responsiveness, and scalability across the global MOGAS quotation and order acquisition process while maintaining exceptional customer support and commercial excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision and leadership for the Houston-based Commercial Operations team.

• Coordinate workload distribution and resource allocation to ensure timely response to customer RFQs and commercial inquiries.

• Monitor team performance, productivity, quote turnaround times, and adherence to established KPIs.

• Coach, mentor, and develop Application Engineers and commercial support personnel.

• Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and customer focus.

• Develop and implement operating processes that enable effective collaboration between Houston-based personnel and Application Engineers located in other countries.

• Establish standard work, communication protocols, escalation paths, and handoff procedures across regions.

• Drive consistency in quote development, technical reviews, pricing methodologies, and customer communication practices.

• Lead initiatives to eliminate organizational silos and ensure a "one team" approach across global resources.

• Facilitate regular global team reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions.

• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate commercial workflows.

• Develop process documentation, work instructions, governance models, and training materials.

• Partner with business systems teams to improve utilization of commercial tools, CRM platforms, CPQ systems, and reporting capabilities.

• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, commercial procedures, delegation of authority requirements, and applicable regulations.

• Support continuous improvement projects focused on productivity, quality, and customer responsiveness.

• Support the team in evaluating and preparing customer RFQs from both technical and commercial perspectives.

• Ensure accurate, competitive, and profitable quotations are delivered on time.

• Collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to determine optimal quotation strategies.

• Facilitate resolution of commercial and operational issues that may impact customer commitments.

• Support critical customer opportunities and strategic projects when escalation or leadership involvement is required.

• Serve as the primary local commercial operations leader for the Houston organization.

• Foster strong collaboration among Sales, Operations, Engineering, Product Management, Customer Service, and Manufacturing teams.

• Communicate business priorities and operational needs across functions.

• Support organizational change initiatives associated with MOGAS growth and business integration activities.

• Establish and monitor KPIs related to:

• Quote turnaround time

• Win rate

• Workload balancing

• Productivity

• Process compliance

• Customer responsiveness

• Training and capability development

• Prepare and present regular business reviews and operational performance reports to Commercial Operations leadership.

• Recommend organizational improvements based on performance data and business needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.

• Significant experience in commercial operations, application engineering, quotation management, or customer-facing industrial environments.

• Demonstrated leadership and people management experience.

• Strong understanding of engineered products and commercial processes.

• Experience working in a global, matrixed organization.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.

• Proven ability to drive process improvements and lead change initiatives.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
