Commercial Segment Support Manager I - Merchant Services Pricing Leader

Overview:

Responsible for providing the strategic direction and management of the planning, development and implementation of Merchant Services Pricing Framework and Strategy in support of both Commercial Bank and Business Banking. This role will drive portfolio revenue at the Commercial and/or Bank-wide level.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Evaluate, inform, continually implement Merchant Service Pricing Strategy, aligning department roles, responsibilities, and driving adoption across organization including New Business Pricing Approval Authority, Annual Pricing Increases, Exception Pricing review
• Work with Bank partners to understand and influence Merchant Pricing, both for new and existing customers and support needs based upon business objectives.
• Demonstrate a thorough and expert understanding of the Merchant Pricing within both Commercial and Business Banking, including key initiatives, major projects, and revenue goals needs.
• Keep abreast of business and market trends that may affect the business/department through updates via third party vendors and/or independent analyses.
• Help to shape overall Merchant Services strategic direction creating analyses to further Merchant Services strategies.
• Oversee and ensure proper direction on CPLS strategic priorities and projects.
• Take the lead role in creating/setting pricing policy or developing and overseeing the implementation of pricing procedures or controls related to pricing discipline & compliance requirements within the overall business processes.
• Perform highly complex analysis and judgment based review, research, and/or reconciliation.
• Interpret results and present findings to make or influence strategic decisions within the department or division.
• Provide coaching, direction, and leadership to team members in order to achieve business results.
• Promote an environment that supports belonging and reflects the M&T Bank brand.
• Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities:

Could potentially manager a small team as needs dictate

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelor's degree and minimum of 5 years' related business line experience including 1 year leadership/ supervisory experience, or in lieu of a degree, combined minimum of 9 years' higher education and/or work experience including 1 year leadership/supervisory experience

In-depth understanding of principles in discipline and basic knowledge of others

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $89,600.00 - $149,300.00 Annual (USD). The successful candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
