Traveling Project Superintendent

About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Superintendent to serve as the lead field superintendent on commercial construction projects throughout the United States. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong field leader who enjoys traveling and takes pride in delivering high-quality projects from groundbreaking through completion.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in ground-up commercial construction, with experience on banks, credit unions, financial institutions, corporate facilities, or other high-end commercial projects highly preferred.

Position Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead Superintendent and primary field leader on assigned projects.
• Oversee all day-to-day field operations from mobilization through project completion.
• Manage subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
• Coordinate daily activities and sequencing of multiple trades.
• Develop and maintain project schedules and communicate progress to the Project Manager and leadership team.
• Conduct regular site meetings and coordinate subcontractor activities.
• Monitor workmanship, quality control, safety, and compliance with project specifications.
• Review plans, drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to identify potential conflicts or issues.
• Coordinate inspections and ensure work meets applicable codes and project requirements.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, architects, owners, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders.
• Track and communicate project progress, schedule changes, delays, and field issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite.
• Help resolve field conflicts and provide solutions to keep the project moving forward.
• Ensure projects are completed with a high level of attention to detail and finish quality.
• Assist with project closeout, punch lists, inspections, and turnover.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial construction experience preferred.
• Proven experience serving as a Lead or Project Superintendent on ground-up commercial projects.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and field operations.
• Experience managing multiple subcontractors and trades on complex projects.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of construction safety requirements and quality-control practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to identify problems in the field and develop practical solutions.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with construction management software.

• Hospitality
• Ground-up commercial buildings
• Design-build construction
• Projects requiring a high level of architectural detail and finish quality

Travel Requirements

This is a nationwide traveling position. The successful candidate must be comfortable traveling throughout the United States for extended project assignments.

Travel expenses, lodging, and applicable per diem will be provided in accordance with company policy.
