ABOUT CORE SERVICES

Core Services Hood Cleaning & Fire Prevention is a rapidly growing commercial kitchen services company based in San Diego, CA. We keep restaurants and commercial kitchens clean, safe, and up to code. We're a lean, hands-on team, and every role matters to keeping our operation running smoothly.

THE ROLE

If you've worked as a dishwasher, pot washer, kitchen porter, or in a commissary kitchen, you already have the skills for this job. We're hiring a part-time Commissary Dishwasher / Kitchen Utility Cleaner to wash and degrease the commercial kitchen filters our technicians bring back to our shop each day. Think of it as dish pit work with a purpose: you wash, rinse, inspect, dry, and stack, and everything is ready to go for the next day's routes. It's an afternoon/evening shift, so you have your days free.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Receive and stage dirty kitchen filters and equipment dropped off by our technicians.
- Scrub, degrease, and rinse them using our wash station, just like running a commercial dish pit.
- Inspect each piece for damage and set aside anything that needs replacing.
- Dry, sort, and stack clean items so they're organized and ready for the next scheduled exchange.
- Keep your wash area, equipment, and supplies clean, organized, and stocked.
- Count and track what comes in and goes out so our drivers can plan routes with confidence.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area at all times.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

- Dishwasher, pot washer, kitchen porter, prep, janitorial, or similar experience preferred, but not required. We'll train the right person.
- Reliable and detail-oriented. Clean means clean, every time.
- Comfortable working with degreaser and cleaning chemicals (full training provided).
- Able to work independently once trained, with minimal supervision during your shift.
- Available for afternoon/evening shifts, most weekdays.
- Takes pride in the work. This role keeps our whole operation running on time.

COMPENSATION & GROWTH

- Pay: $18–$21/hour, based on experience.
- Part-time to start, with room to grow in hours and pay as we grow.
- Opportunity to move into other roles at Core Services as the company expands.

HOW TO APPLY

Send your resume or a quick note on your availability and any dishwashing, kitchen, or cleaning experience. If you're reliable and take pride in doing the job right, we want to hear from you.
