Communications Intern

Eastern Idaho Public Health (EIPH) is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and motivated Communications Intern to join our General Support team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work directly under the Public Information Officer (PIO) and gain hands-on experience in public health communications, digital strategy, and community outreach. The ideal candidate is eager to help share our vision of healthy people and healthy communities through modern storytelling and digital engagement.

Schedule: Flexible - 10-40 hours per week based on internship/student need.

Internship Period: Winter Term

Position Type: Non-Benefited, Temporary

Pay: $10, per hour

Office Location: 1250 Hollipark Dr., Idaho Falls, ID 83401

Responsibilities and Expectations:

• Digital Presence: Assist with website updates and maintenance using WordPress and Elementor to ensure information remains accessible and up-to-date.
• Policy & Writing: Assist in drafting and refining internal and external communication policies and press materials.
• Branding: Represent EIPH's mission by ensuring all communications are professional, accurate, and community-focused.
• Visual Storytelling: Develop high-quality graphics and capture photography or video content to highlight EIPH initiatives and healthcare services.
• Content Creation: Draft, review, and schedule engaging social media content across multiple platforms to promote health programs and public safety.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
• Creative Skills: Experience in design principles and software, mainly Canva.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
• Collaboration: A reliable and flexible team player who enjoys working on multiple projects at a time.
