    Description

    Purpose of Position- In partnership with the Manager of Public Relations and Communications and Imagine! leadership, contributes to and assists with the implementation of Imagine!'s communications and marketing strategy through thoughtful planning, compelling storytelling, and consistent execution. This position works directly with programs, direct support professionals (DSPs), individuals, and families to identify and share authentic stories that demonstrate the impact of Imagine!'s services and the strength, joy, and diversity of our community. The Communications and Marketing Specialist helps ensure Imagine!'s messaging is planned across the year, aligned with organizational priorities and marketing goals, accessible and respectful, and engaging for the audiences we serve. Recommends content, timing, and marketing and storytelling strategies.

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities

    Communications Strategy

    • Collaborates with and assists with the implementation of Imagine!'s organizational strategy for marketing, communications, and public relations in partnership with leadership.

    • Provides recommendations and input to the Manager of Public Relations and Communications as well as the leadership team, and staff.

    • Ensures communications strengthen stakeholder relationships and advance Imagine!'s mission, values, strategic priorities, and organizational goals.

    • Identifies emerging communications opportunities, trends, and technologies and recommends strategies to strengthen Imagine!'s reach and impact.

    Brand Management and Content Development

    • Utilizes clear, consistent, and accessible brand, messaging, and graphic standards across all internal and external communications.

    • Ensures content is current, engaging, respectful of diverse audiences, aligned with organizational priorities, and optimized for digital reach, including search engine optimization.

    • Contributes story ideas and develops content highlighting Imagine!'s programs, activities, people, partnerships, and impact for multiple forms of communication/media including, but not limited to, social media, the company website and intranet, newsletters, videos and other marketing publications and communication channels.

    • Uses multimedia, storytelling, and emerging technologies to create engaging and effective communications.

    Public Relations

    • Identifies and coordinates print, digital, and other earned-media opportunities that increase awareness of Imagine! and its work.

    • Represents Imagine! at community, business, and public events as needed.

    Stakeholder and Employee Engagement

    • Develops communications that keep employees informed, engaged, and connected to Imagine!'s mission, priorities, and goals.

    • Creates opportunities to gather stakeholder feedback regarding Imagine!'s communications, analyzes results, and uses findings to guide continuous improvement.

    • Supports meaningful engagement with individuals, families, employees, donors, community partners, and other key audiences.

    Organizational and Project Support

    • Provides communications and marketing support to leadership, departments, and select committees.

    • Assists with the coordinationof contracted communications and marketing partners, ensuring alignment with Imagine!'s strategy and brand standards.

    • Supports online registrations and other communications-related departmental needs as assigned.

    Job Qualifications

    Knowledge, Skill, and Ability:

    • Skills in marketing, public relations, and online publication production.

    • Ability to develop compelling social media content.

    • Exceptional written, visual, and verbal communication abilities, with a talent for crafting messages that resonate with diverse employee audiences.

    • Exceptional writing skills, creativity, and the ability to connect with employees at all levels to foster a strong organizational culture.

    • Ability to develop and maintain website content.

    • Knowledge of the ADA as it relates to website accessibility and content creation.

    • Effective problem solver with the ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with employees, contractors, stakeholders and leadership.

    • Ability to align internal communications with broader organizational goals and adapt strategies based on feedback and metrics.

    • Ability to work effectively with various technologies including word processing software, internet-based databases, etc.

    • Possession of a valid driver's license and ability to meet Imagine! driving requirements.

    • This position requires regular use of a personal mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet.

    Training/Education:

    • Bachelor's degree in marketing, social media, business, communication, or related field required.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 1 year professional experience in social media, marketing and/or communications.

    • Experience working with the intellectual and developmentally disabled community a plus.

    Working Environment/Physical Activities

    • Effective with shifting roles, responsibilities, and expectations in a changing environment.

    • Extended periods of time working at a computer.

    • Occasional evening or weekend work.

    • This position will work in a typical office setting and at various locations in the community.
