Communications Program Lead - Enterprise MHS GENESIS/JOMIS Strategic Communications, Stakeholder Engagement & Public Relations - Hybrid - Washington, DC - FTE

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Program Lead to direct and execute comprehensive strategic communications, public relations, media engagement, and stakeholder alignment for the enterprise MHS GENESIS/JOMIS implementations and operations. The successful candidate will oversee messaging strategy, multi-site stakeholder engagement, public affairs, media relations, and executive visibility across all core functional areas of the program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic & Crisis Communications Leadership: Develop and execute multi-channel communication strategies, press releases, media advisories, and risk-mitigation messaging across all program domains supporting specific enterprise MHS GENESIS/JOMIS  implementations and operations.

  • Media Relations & Public Affairs Oversight: Serve as the primary public relations lead, managing media inquiries, facilitating interview prep, shaping public-facing narratives, and establishing governance standards for all outward communications.

  • Stakeholder Engagement & Alignment: Lead comprehensive stakeholder engagement and change alignment across the organization, aligning government leadership, program offices, contractors, functional teams, and community stakeholders.

  • Executive Messaging & Media Preparation: Craft polished executive briefings, talking points, speeches, and op-eds, while preparing senior leadership for public appearances, media interviews, and high-profile stakeholder presentations.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience directing enterprise public relations, media engagement, and strategic communications campaigns for large-scale healthcare or government IT deployments (ideally supporting MHS GENESIS or JOMIS Programs).

  • Demonstrated history of establishing communication governance, press clearance protocols, and messaging consistency across complex organizational structures.

  • Proven capability in aligning diverse stakeholder groups including government leadership, program offices, contractors, and cross-functional teams across a large footprint.

  • Exceptional journalism, speechwriting, and/or public relations skills with a track record of translating complex technical systems into clear, compelling public and executive narratives.
